My first full day on my own in Italy, I decided, at Em's suggestion, to take a day trip to Lake Como. I've always been amazed how different it can be even an hour outside of NYC, and the same held true in Italy. It was about a 30m train ride to Como from Milan, and the two places couldn't be more different from each other. I can see why this is a popular vacation destination, and I wish that I had stayed longer there to really explore what the Lake had to offer!
Since I was only there for a short time, I spent most of my time walking around the town and doing what I do best, taking photos. I even rode the trolley up to the top of the mountain and saw some amazing views of the whole city:
The only disappointment I had with visiting Lake Como was, unfortunately, that I did not run into George Clooney - that would have made my entire holiday!
