Forte Dei Marmi: A J.P. Morgan Reunion of Sorts

Following Greece, Haley and I parted ways and I made my way to Forte Dei Marmi to meet Em, Sorcha and Charlie for a CFAP-2006 JPM reunion with some of their other JPM colleagues!  While traveling around and meeting new people is an incredibly exciting experience, there's something to be said about spending time with people that you've known for nearly 5 years!  This was a trip originally planned by Sorcha, with Charlie and I being last minute additions for the weekend.  That said, I believe Charlie did make sure to ask Sorcha if she wanted to come along :)

Thanks to my Smart Car and faithful GPS, I finally made it to the hotel!  I must say, GPSs that speak in meters when you don't actually know how far a meter actually is, makes for a few wrong turns along the way!  Nonetheless, I was finally able to meet up with everyone after a much needed shower!  I think one of my favorite parts of the first night there was getting to an almost empty nightclub and having Garreth attempt to convince the cashier that we should not have to pay seeing as how we appeared to be bringing the party.  This did not go over well, but luckily even after the hijinks that evening, we were still able to return the next two nights as well!

And most importantly, we were able to see Boy George DJ!!  Who would have thought that of all places to see Boy George, it would have been DJing in a night club in Forte Dei Marmi, Italy.  And I must say, he drew quite the crowd!

Overall, the weekend consisted of a lot of food, good drinks and good friends.  It was here that, thanks to Em, I really took a step back and tried to remember what it was that I wanted to get out of this trip.  I am trying to figure out what it is that I want out of life and up until this point - I hadn't really spent any time on myself and was more concerned with trying to forget my problems back home.  Which, as she so wisely pointed out, was not what I was doing.  This is why she is one of my best friends and I love her.

And thankfully, this spot marked the last beach destination on my trip (at least as far as I know), as traveling through Europe, while amazing, has not done wonders for my waistline and I'm quite happy to turn in the bikinis until next year!
