Sorry that I've been so slow at updating these - quite challenging while traveling, but I've been writing along the way - so here are a few new posts!
Haley's roommate in NYC, Ioannis, is from Greece, and lucky for us happened to be there at the same time that we were! He and his friends, Chris & Nikos, were amazing during our trip along the coast! When we first got to their apartment, the first thing they asked is what they could cook us for dinner. Unfortunately, Haley and I had been so hungry after the beach that we stopped at a grocery store and consumed more salami and cheese in one sitting than anyone ever should. Therefore, the BBQ had to be postponed until the next night.
The beach town that we were in (and I know Chris has told me the name of it multiple times, but I still don't remember) was great and that morning, I saw probably the most beautiful sunrise that I've ever seen, or probably ever will see again. I must have about 30 pictures of it, but not to bore you with all of them, a sample of them are below:
The next day we all went to a beach club, although, luckily, this was much more relaxed than the ones in St. Tropez. What I learned at the beach that day:
(1) Haley likes a LOT of limes in her drink
(2) Next time I go on a tube ride, must remember to wear tighter bikini bottoms
(3) Watching the boys try to toss Haley in the air to do a back-flip is incredibly entertaining
(3a) I'm not nearly fast enough with my camera to catch her mid-air :(
(4) We were able to make a human "pyramid" with 3 people, however, 4 people proved to be too much (I'm still upset that we don't have a photo of this, but you can picture it: Haley on top of Ioannis' shoulders while I'm on top of hers - impressive, right?!)
(5) It hurts when you try and flip but end straight on your back
(6) Swimming at sunset in Greece is a lot more fun than I ever could have imagined. Recommended for sure.
That evening, we finally had the BBQ - and similar to the rest of our time in Greece, there was entirely too much food for 5 people, it was definitely certain that we were NOT going to leave the table hungry! I also have learned that I REALLY like tomatoes...I never really did back home - but something about the tomatoes I've had in Europe have converted me!
